The Science Behind Our Products
Marni’s Naturals works from three basic principles:
- Always seek the highest bar in a quest for the best; anything worth doing is worth doing right.
- Do the very best that you can do in all things with love, respect, integrity & openness to learn.
- Seek effective solutions from Nature and Pay it forward; what you give is what you get.
Serums enable you to target specific skin conditions
Think of it this way: simple, standard moisturizers’ role is to hydrate; some may contain a few antioxidants; Serum, on the other hand, treat skin conditions such as anti-aging, brightening, hydrating or alleviating dullness and fine lines..
Even better? Instead of using several expensive serums, plus a moisturizer, simply apply Marni’s Naturals formulas (one for Daytime use, one for Nighttime or extra dry skin) and address all the issues with one product.
Serums penetrate deeper into the skin
You may notice that most serums are more thin, watery and lightweight in texture. There’s a term used by cosmetic chemists called “viscosity” which, in simple terms, describes the thickness of a formula. Despite the prevalent myth that your skin “drinks up” everything you apply on it, skincare ingredients don’t always have an easy time getting through to work their magic. In fact, when a solution is too thick, the vast majority of it can simply sit on top of skin, essentially blocking other ingredients from entering. This is why serums are lighter—the formula contains smaller molecules that can actually penetrate skin and go deeper. Marnie’s Naturals uses only NONCOMEDEGENIC, ULTRA ABSORBABLE natural oils—NO artificial chemicals, fossil fuel derivatives like Mineral Oil or petrolatum.
Our Serums contain NO bad ingredients—no fillers, man made chemicals or toxic additives.
The best way to tell if a product is truly all natural and organic is to look at it: if it’s not opague, unsightly pure white, it’s probably natural. There is no truly natural, Earth sourced product that looks like that, because Nature doesn’t generally produce such substances. With the exception of Milkweed juice, which is white, the botanicals, extracts and oils we use will simply never produce a thick white product.
Because serums are potent healers, they are highly concentrated with actives [active ingredients]and complementary blends that work together to enhance performance and create an economical, easily applied and absorbable texture. This means our serums have NO ingredients that do not serve a function. Standard moisturizers and creams, on the other hand, are often formulated with controversial ingredients like silicones, thickeners and parabens, which can cause irritation for some. Ingredients you should avoid*
Retinol and alpha hydroxy acids
Certain forms of Vitamin C, such as L-ascorbic acid, have been shown to cause irritation when mixed with retinol or alpha hydroxy acids, or become less effective
Retinol and benzoyl peroxide
Note that these combinations aren’t a bad mix 100% of the time—so it’s important you do your research and reach out to the brand for more information.
